Anybody here vegan?
by Dagney ini've been considering it for awhile strictly for just general overall health.
i don't take any meds, and would like to keep it that way for as long as i can.
i am a "all things in moderation " type of person but the more i read about excluding dairy and meat, the more i think about doing it.

Hi Dagney, I thought I drop in and look at the thread you mentioned today. Like I said the change has been easy for me. I'm never hungry. I eat whatever I want when I want and as much as I want and I losing weight and have more energy. I like cooking so it has been fun finding new things to make.

Is there a new sense of urgency due to 2012 ?
by av8orntexas ini haven't attended the meetings on a regular basis,since about 2008. a meeting period in about 2 years.. .
probably 6 months ago i ran into a brother, whom was working at a local grocery store.
he was making a delivery as a vendor,somehow we got to talking,religion came up and he found out i am a jw, though i told hime i no longer attend.

I was kind of like Troubled Mind. I left when I just couldn't take one more BS meeting. I left to keep my sanity.

I found my cousins

That's pretty cool noni. At one time I couldn't see any point to facebook. I only got on it because my sister wanted me to but since being on it I've had some good experience. I stumbled on a woman (I'm friends with her xjw father) who I hadn't seen since she was a baby because I left the WT while she was still a baby. She was a witness up to few years ago but is now out and we are now friend on facebook.
I also had someone on this board contact me because she recognized my real name as someone she knew in her (and my) JW days when I had Randy Watters befriend me facebook. I'd seen her posts on this board but little did I know she was a friend of mine from about 30 years ago when I was a Jdub.

Did anything significant happen in 1934?
by Paralipomenon inlooking at the 607/587 bce issue, i was wondering if the bethel could spin some new light to avoid embarassment and buy themselves an extra 25 years or so.. if it was 1935, they could claim that the call to close the doors to heaven was actually the real date of jesus' invisible reign and tie up two embarassments with one flash of light.. best i could find though, nothing really important happended then.
anyone else with better jw historical records think of an "out" for them?.
once 2014 comes, they are in for a major explanation.

I'm sure that they would appreciate any help they can get but 1934 doesn't really buy them much time and they would still have to answer what Jesus has been doing for the past 75 plus years.
Every significant event that I can think of that would relate to them has long past its value for them to spin. The invention of the hot air balloon. The flush toilet. The barf bag..... we maybe the barf bag. When was that invented?
I think they're should consider themselves fortunate to have a fan base that will eat any $h*t they shovel into the feeding trough and view it as spiritual food.
